It's Official...

It is official that the sun makes me, personally, happier. People here talk about how it is hard in the winter because it is so dark outside and I knew that it was affecting me a little bit, but when the sun shines you understand better. Today the sun was shining when I got out of basketball practice in the morning and I was just so happy. I mean it felt good, the sun was shining it wasn't very cold and I was/am very happy today. I have never experienced this feeling before. Today was profound and I experienced something totally new, made me feel energetic and inspired.

Thank you to everybody who sent me Christmas cards! I have just recieved one from my uncle Steve and my aunt Colleen, I also recieved a card from my grandma Snoonie and grandpa Ocie and I got a package from my Dad. Thank you everybody it is so nice to recieve something from loved ones :D.

Thursday, was a good day, normal as can be. I tried something a little different, I went to school and then I went home and did some stuff. Then I went back to school to work out when it was about five in the evening. There are a lot of different people at the gym at that time so that was kind of cool. It was a good day and I didn't do anythingnoteworthy at all, just a gray day. Cold and such with snow and everything. When I went home from school they didn't have a bus when they were supposed to so I ended up waiting for a half an hour. That is kind of annoying, the bus isn't 100% reliable, that is my only complaint with it!

Friday, another good but semi normal day. I went to school and put my time in on the grindstone like I always do, not actually a grindstone, really fun. After school I didn't go to the gym like I normally do, I decided that I am going to take the training down a notch. I will go for three days a week and give my body time to recover in between the workouts. I went home right after school and then I left again to go to a basketball game. I went to the game with my friends that play basketball, they always go to the games and so it is a sure thing that I have some people to hang out with if I want to go. Unfortunately the pro team here in Örebro is having a very bad season so that makes it not as much fun to go to the games. I went to the game and within the first ten minutes Örebro scored 10 points and the opposing team scored 5, I left 20 minutes into the game and the score was Örebro 10 and opposing team 14. I was almost kicking myself fornot staying cause it looked to be such a good game, until I found out the score was something like Örebro 26 and opposing team 86. I left for a good reason though, I went with a friend of mine who I play basketball with to his practice for his team. He coaches a team of boys aged between 11 and 13 and so I went just to hang out wih him and see what he was doing. His team was really good for their age I think and I enjoyed the practice, I was thinking maybe I'll be a coach when I go back to the US, for some little kids. I then went home and ate tacos! It was a good Friday I think.

Saturday, I am trying to become a more cultured and well rounded person all around. Part of this I beilive is experiencin art and developing my own taste. I have been to art galleries before and I have seen a lot of art but this was an official showing with a legitimate artist. Caitlin talked to me about this thing a few days before, and we were just like ya sure lets go, it's free! Caitlin got this information from her host mom and it was a little unclear where we were supposed to be. We knew that the actual showing was in Kumla but there was a bus going there that was free and it would bring us back for free too. She told me to meet at the castle and that the bus would be leaving from there somewhere, so we met there a half an hour early to make sure we would have a place on the bus. When I showed up 40 minutes before the bus was supposed to leave I found Caitlin already there, she had been there for a while, I think, and there was nobody else there. It was confusing yes but we weren't to worried about it, we went to get a little coffee because we had so much time. Caitlin called her host mom to figure out exactly what we were supposed to do, just to make sure. We ended up having to run to a completel different place in order to catch the bus and it was totally full of people so we ended up standing, not a big deal. This bus just kinda dropped us off on the country side, we weren't totally sure where we were going or where this showing was but luckily we had a whole bus load of people with us so we just followed the crowd! It was this really really cool building on the countryside of Kumla, there was a farm house close to it but it was just so different and it didn't look like it belonged there. Caitlin and I went there and enjoyed the interesting art, I think it was themed something like "Abstract Nature". There was another small house close to the big art gallery that had some smaller artist showcasing their work as well so we got to check out some other styles of art as well. That part of the day was really good, we made friends with this artist guy from Sudan and we talked a lot about art and such! We took the bus we came on back to Örebro and went to lunch at Jensens Böfhus and ate delicious cheap steak. We were quite rushed though because we had to go to the movie that we bought tickets to! We went to see "The Tourist", it was a good movie but I think I have definately seen better movies in my life. Right after we were done with the movies we went to Kumla with my family to celebrate my brother's, Emil's, birthday! I actually didn't realize that it was his birthday until we showed up to his house. We ate dinner and partied it up with the family for a few hours! It was a lot of fun and me and Caitlin stayed with my brother and his girlfriend for the night! I have been in Kumla a lot since switching families and I really likei actually!!

Sunday! Sunday was the chill day, it seems like every time I go and have a big day I have a rest day afterwards, it's actually nice. I woke up in Kumla, ate breakfast with Emil, Mathilda, and Caitlin and then my other host brother Nicklas came over! We hung out a bit and then figured out how we were getting back to Örebro! Nicklas had to return something that he got for Christmas and so he drove Caitlin and I home! After I got home just hung out the whole day, watched some movies and chilled in sweats, good day for me, I like to do more but sometimes it is really nice to just relax and enjoy Sweden :D.
