Big week!
Woke up nice and early to go to Stockholm, my bus left at 7:30 and I wasn't about to miss it so I decided to catch the 6:30 bus into town. I don't think I have left the house that early in a while and it was a really cool day to do it. There was just a little bit of rain and it was fairly warm, about 3 degrees celcius, so it wasn't that bad waiting outside or even being up so early. I waited at the bus stop and there were a surprising amount of people on the bus, only about 15. Normally the buses I take have about 60 people on them so it was kind of nice to get one with only a few people. I got into town and met up with Liz, we walked around and took a really really long fika in a local coffee shop, that was really nice. We then rode the subway to another exchange student and then finally the three of us took it to Liz's house. Liz and I made food and she made me some really really good tea. Riley came over and we just kind of hung out for a while. Kelli, another exchange student and her friend Anders came over as well and we continued to hang out. We ate a little dinner and then Riley, Kelli and Anders left. Liz and I then made an apple pie. I know I have made apple pie before but this was a little more of a challenge because we had to convert everything from the Swedish measurements to the American measurements. I think it turned out absolutly delicious though and it was really a lot of fun to make! After we were done with the pies we watched a movie and then went to sleep!! It was very nice to meet Liz's host parents, they are very nice people and I hope I get to go back and visit sometime soon :D.
Friday! Woke up and took a shower, excited for the day and all things to come. Liz and I went to her school and chilled, hung out and went to English class. I enjoy visiting other exchange students jsut to see how their lives are going, they do a lot of the same things I do but they do it in a different way. I met some of Liz's good friends and that was really good, we then took the subway back into the center of Stockholm to meet up with Riley. Liz, Riley and I chilled and took a fika and walked around for a little bit before we met up with Oscar, Oscar is a new exchange student who has just come here from Australia! Liz had to go back home to prepare some things for the dinner we were going to have with all the other exchange students that night but Riley, Oscar an I hung out in town and had bro time. Riley has been the only male exchange student in Stockholm for a few weeks and I think that was getting to him, he liked having me around and so we just chilled and messed around in town for a few hours. We got to the dinner a little bit late but that was no big thing to us. We ate some really good food and I met two new exchange students, one more from Australia Lockland (spelling) and one from New Jersey, Brianna, Brianna is a with a different program but she is still an exchange student and she chills with all the others in Stockholm. It was a really, really good dinner prepared by Liz and her host mom Pia. We hung out and then everybody left Liz and I watched another movie and got to sleep a little earlier then I would have guessed because i needed to get up really early on Saturday. One interesting thing about Friday was that it was snowing when i woke up but then by the time we were done at Liz's school it was plus 3 and no snow, crazy weather.
Saturday, woke up at 5:15, ready to great the day. Luckily enough for me Liz's mom was gracious enough to offer me a ride to the train station so I didn't have to get up at 4:30 to take public transportation all the way there. On top of that she even made me a nice breakfast to go :D. She took me to the train station and helped me find my train. I then took the trainto Köping to talk to new outgoing exchange students from Sweden. When I got to Köping I waited for Gunnar, the man incharge of rotary youth exchange in my district, and he took me to where I was going to talk. Caitlin was already there and it felt just about the same as the ones I went to in Oregon. There were a few different people that talked about a few different things and then Caitlin and I were up, we talked, all in Swedish, about how it was to live and be in a different country and then we answered questions from different people. It was a lot of fun to meet new kids and talk tons and tons of Swedish. It was a good day and I had fun meeting new people and speaking Swedish. As soon as I came home I went to a birthday party for one of my host cousins, that was good as well, meet the host family and just kind of hang out. I was exhausted though and I went to sleep soon after we came home! Good day all in all and really nice to meet new people.
Sunday I woke up a little bit early on Sunday to go watch my sister Caisa compete in a horse competition. She did really good and it was fun to go to. It took a lot of preperation for only about a minute of competition. I had never been to anything like that before though and it was a good experience :D. After I got home I went to sleep for a long time and woke up and ate and chilled for little bit before Nicklas came over, he then invited me to go meet his friend and see her new apartment, I accepted. We did that and it was a nice apartment but then we went to pick up a Scottish man from the train station, I guess one of Nicklas friends is dating him and this was his first trip to Sweden. His accent was very interesting, I think it was my first time meeting a legitimate Scottish personso that was kinda cool. We went to where his girlfriend worked and chilled before Nicklas and I went back to my house. I decided to stay at home for the super bowl but I watched it, it was on at 12:30 but I watched it, good game. Unfortunately I was banking on the Steelers winning and so I lost 100 krowns in a friendly bet with some of my classmates but oh well, stuff happens. I went to sleep and got up unwillingly for school the next day.
