Wednesday was a good day, I had the Rotary meeting and think I slept through my basketball practice for reasons of exhaustedness. I met up with Caitlin at the Rotary meeting, I think her host mom brought her with just because. The man that talked was pretty interesting, he had been all over the world making movies and comercials and stuff and so he just talked about that and himself. It was a good presentation and there were a lot of people there to see him. Caitlin and I then walked back to her school because she had a class and I wanted to visit my friend Severin :D. She went to her class and I went to the library to meet up with Sev and a bunch of other friends, they talked about the upcoming Karrofesten and continued to help me get a ticket at that late hour. They are a bunch of really nice guys and I'm glad to know them. Caitlin and I then went back to Caitlin's new host family with her! I met them and they are really super nice, they are great people and they accepted me as if I was there exchange student aswell. I ate dinner with them and chilled out just getting to know them and then by the end of the night Anders, Caitlins host dad, claimed me as his son as well. It was very nice, I decided he needed one and he took me in. Nice guy, really nice people it feels like I have gotten another host family that I don't live with. It was really great to meet them and we ate some delicious seafoodish stuff :D. Wednesday was a good day, after I had met the Skinnars I went home and hung out with my family too haha. I had a good night's sleep!
On Thursday we did a fun activity in Swedish class. We had to fill in the words of a song as the song played, this was just no ordinary song either, it was a song sung by a Swedish artist in this very interesting compitition called "Melodifestivalen", "The Melody Festival". It is a very interesting thing that all of Europe or at least almost all of Europe takes part in. A competition in singing, it's like American Idol, kind of, but any artist can enter into it and each country competes on a national level and then the winners of those countries go to the finals I guess you could call it and then the winners from each country compete against each other and that country wins the competition! Pretty exciting I think, the whole process takes a while to do and we are in the middle of it right now actually. Anyway that's what I did in school on Thursday and that was pretty fun, it seems like Thursdays are pretty fun in Swedish class, not that every other day isn't fun but Thursdays are extra fun! After school, I went home and chilled with my family for a little while, my host brother Nicklas was here and we were having a little going away party for him because he was headed to Vietnam that Monday. We ate dinner and my other brother Emil came too. It was a nice dinner and I had a good time just chillin with the whole family :D. After that Nicklas and I headed into town on the bus, he was going to meet up with some friends and I was going to Karrofesten. I had to get my ticket from some friends before I met up with some other friends to actually go to the party so I went to one before party for a little while before meeting up with Jesper Forss my friend from Virginska. We got to the party about 9:45 and there was almost no one there. There was an alcohol test outside the door before we came in that we of course passed fine but we though maybe a lot of people had been drinking and so they weren't allowed in or something, it freaked us both out and we just decided to wait to see if a lot of people would come. Turns out that if you do come early there is never anyone there, by about 10:30 there were a lot of people and the party was swingin! It was a good night and I had a lot of fun seeing all my friends and meetin some new people. It worked out great for me and it worked out for Jesper too. I got a ride home with Jesper, his step dad came to pick us up at around 3am, nice guy. The party theme was rave so there were a lot of interesting outfits, I did what I could but I definately didn't win the award for best dressed, maybe next time?
