Well, it's a new year. It is always weird to switch and of course people are always making new years resolutions, for me though I like to look forward to what will be happening in the next year. Last year I thought about myself living across the Atlantic, this year I'm actually here and I am thinking about starting my senior year! Life's an interesting game, it goes on no matter what you're doing or where you are!
Friday, the last day of 2010. I did a lot of good things that day like sleep, ah the good sleep, I woke up at half past twelve. From that point I was just waiting and doing laundry. I had already made plans with Nicklas, my host brother, to go to Kumla, a town that's 20 Kilometers away, and listen to a band. Basically my day was spent just hanging out and enjoying my last few hours of the year. My host family was doing their own New Years Eve party with another family here at the house so before I left I got to meet this whole other family. I left at 5:30 and didn't end up getting on the train to Kumla until 9, my bus was late getting to the train station, by a half an hour. So I went and ate a little bit and then finlly met up with Caitlin for a little bit and went to a little party with her for just a few minutes. I got on the train and got to Kumla at 20 over 9ish and met up with Nicklas. After that We went to his house and I met a bunch of his friends and then to the town square for the concert a little before midnight! It was a great day and I felt satisfied with the way I started of 2011 :D.
January first, When I woke up, too early, at 11 I helped Nicklas' room mate clean up their apartment a little and then somebody said "tacos". From that point on it was a mission to make tacos and that is just what we did. We went to the store and bought taco stuff and then went to one of Nicklas' friend's house and made tacos. It was fun, they were all laughing and cracking jokes and it was all the people from the night before so I felt pretty comfortable with them. It was a nice first day of the new year. We didn't really do much, just chilled, ate tacos, and watched soccer, I liked it. I got a ride back into Örebro at 5 I think and I just hung out with my family from then on. It was good, really good am enjoying my chill time, Christmas break is great!
Sunday, I got up this morning to say goodbye to mom, Gunn, because she is going skiing in France for a week with her friends. When I got up everybody was lready up and I was just thinking this is to early. I ate breakfast and then I remembered that I was going skiing myself today! Ronja, my host sister, made plans before to go skiing and I was talking to Gunn and she asked if I wanted to go too so I just figured why not! I said goodbye to Gunn and got ready for skiing in all my nice new snow clothes. We went to the closest thing that can be called a ski hill and that is about 40 minutes away. It was just a small, small hill with 3 different runs but I was pumped! I don't really ski, I learned how to ski first and all but I haven't done it in about 3 years so I was a little nervous yes. Skiing is not like riding a bike, you can't just get back on and remember everything but you can get back on and a few hours later remember everything ;). We ski'd for five hours and by the end of that I was actually doing kind of good, jumping and grinding a little! I had a lot of fun and I was happy to come home and eat! I think I still prefer snow boarding but I want to ski more, I want to get better and today was just what I needed for that! All in all a great day and I do feel that 2011 is going to be great!!!!
